Anonymous Tip From an ODA Staffer (WHISTLEBLOWER)

This anonymous tip was sent by an ODA staff whistleblower who is unhappy with how our board operates and treats its new board members.  To all ODA councillors and members please read this letter.  It was a confidential letter sent by one of the newly elected female board members, to ODA President David Brown.  It shows clearly how our current President and our CEO Frank Bevilacqua have breached board confidentiality by sharing this highly personal confidential email with 8 ODA staff.  This is an example of how ODA staff have had access to confidential board discussions and communications.  How many other ODA staffers have had access to such information?  Our president decided to expel one female board member for supposedly “breaching board confidentiality,” yet in the same breath he breaks his own code of conduct.  He is unfit to be president and must resign.  Staffers are tired of being bullied by the ODA CEO, and he must also resign.  This is just one confirmed example of a string of improper actions taken by our current president, CEO and Office of the Chair. ODA members could not and should not accept such behaviour. Members have lost all confidence in this ODA leadership.

DO WE HAVE AN EFFECTIVE AND VISIONARY LEADERSHIP IN THE ODA?

An effective leader serves as the architect of common ground, recognizing that true progress is impossible in a house divided against itself. Rather than exploiting differences for short-term gain or personal power, a visionary leader identifies the shared values and collective aspirations that bind a group together, transforming a collection of individuals into a cohesive force. By prioritizing empathy over ego and dialogue over diatribe, they foster an environment of psychological safety where diverse perspectives are synthesized into a singular, resilient mission. Ultimately, leadership is not defined by the ability to conquer opponents, but by the moral courage to build bridges that turn “us versus them” into a more powerful, inclusive “we.”

  2. Why are people defending our obviously broken board of directors? Instead of fixing their failures, they just keep covering up their nastiness by trying to promote “their supporters,” and rewarding them with committee positions, awards, speaking time at the ASM, and spending thousands of dollars to quiet and go after those that are trying to shine a light on their corruption? How many more outspoken board members are they willing to remove? How many more component society elections will they meddle in? How many more ByLaws will they “change” to prevent new blood from getting onto the board? How much more of members’ dues will they spend on lavish meals, alcohol, and legal fees to cover up the failures of Jonathon Mayer and Ed Busvek?

  3. If Dr. David Brown released this confidential letter to ODA staff isn’t HE in breach of Board confidentiality, and shouldn’t HE be removed from the board?
